01.06 Selected Patients Detail
Location: Reports > Patient > 01.06 Selected Patients Detail
Overview
- Most-used report to see who is active, who was admitted, and who was discharged.
- Run it different ways depending on what you select (Active, Admits, Discharges, Birthdays).
- Good for daily census, QI sampling, and pulling patient details by date.
How to Run
- From / Thru: Controls what date range the report looks at. The meaning changes based on the option you select below.
- Program(s) / Payer(s) / Team(s) / Employee(s): Enter
Barnestorm Code codes to filter, or leave blank for all. - Doctors / Communities / Counties / Referred By: Optional code filters for narrowing the list.
- Do Not Print SSN / Do Not Print Medicare/Medicaid ID #s: Suppresses those numbers on the output.
- Order Report By: Choose how the list is sorted.
- Report Content: Choose the layout/details to print. Header for each content type shows a preview at the bottom of the screen.
Options - Active Patients: Set both From and Thru to today to see who is active today. A date range will show anyone active during that range, even if they later discharged. Based on: Patient Status and Discharge date.
- Admits: Shows patients admitted in the date range. Based on: Patient Status and Admission Date.Â
- Discharges: Shows patients whose discharge date falls in the date range.
- Deceased: Pulls patients with an “Expired” discharge reason, based on discharge date. (Use report 22.04 to pull by death date.)
- Birthdays: Pick any day in the month to see birthdays for that month. Report only runs for that month and cannot cross months.
- On Hold: Ignores the dates selected and lists patients whose Referral > Finish status is On Hold (includes active/on-hold COVID).
- RBNA: Ignores the dates selected and lists patients with status “Referred, not admitted.”
- Search Consulting Drs: When using the Doctors filter, also searches consulting doctors from Referral > Dr + Pharmacy.
- Search all payers: Includes all payers from Referral > Payers, not just the primary.
- Print a random selection: Choose a number or percentage for QI studies on active/discharged patients.
- Report Content 8, 9, or G: You’ll get an extra option to print each patient on a separate page.
Tips & Validation
- For a “today’s active” list, be sure From = today and Thru = today.
- If you need deceased by death date (not discharge date), run the separate death report (22.04).
- Use random selection when QA wants a sample, not the full list.
- If no patients appear, check that your date range matches the option you picked (Admits vs Discharges vs Active).
