This feature helps you assess and manage patient volunteer needs, notify the office of requested volunteers, and track volunteer assignments.
Key Functions:
- Clinician can send a volunteer request to an office staff for review.
- Track patients with volunteer requests that haven't yet been assigned a volunteer.
- View each volunteer's current patient assignments.
The Volunteers screen is located under:
- POC > Main Menu > Volunteers
- POC > Visits/Assessment > Volunteers
- Office > Volunteers
- Office > Bereavement > Volunteers

Notify Coordinator
Once the office coordinator receives the request, they can pull up the Volunteers tab in Barnestorm Office. The 'Patients without Volunteers' will list any volunteer request where the patient does not have a volunteer assigned to them. The coordinator will select a patient from the list, which will redirect them to the 'Assign a Volunteer' tab. The office staff will complete the section under 'Assignment details' select volunteer(s) from the drop-down list. Click on Save when finished.
Volunteer Visits (requires Barnestorm Cloud): You can scan paper visits and upload them to the patient's chart using this tab. The PDF will also show up under Documents > (Patient) VolunteerVisits.
Add/Edit Volunteers: Track detailed information about the volunteer, including their availability and TB testing dates.
