If you want to post electronic remittance from the VA, you will need to download the 835s from their portal.
You will also need to know which folder on your computer to save the 835s into.
You can see the folders set up for remits if you use Barnestorm and click Accounts Receivable > Post Payments > Post Electronic Payments.
The folders are shown at the top left.
Use the folder browser on your computer to open the folder you want to use to post the 835s.
Sign in to Optum Portal on your browser.
Click View Payments.
Two methods of reviewing/downloading 835:
Method 1:
1. Click the Payment Number (blue hyperlink) of the remit to be posted.
2. This method you will be able to review each chart/charges of the remit.
3. Scroll down and click the Download 835 button.
4. This may be different on your device: If your downloads window appears, click Open File, then Save it to the Barnestorm claims folder you opened in the steps above.
Method 2:
1. Go to the line of the remit to be downloaded.
2. At the end of that line, click the 835 button.
