Document Primary and Face-to-Face Physician
We have redesigned the 485 screen to add new features, which include meeting the CMS requirement CR 8441 for documenting the face-to-face physician.
CR 8441 requires claims with effective dates or dates of service on or after July 1, 2014 to:
- Report the NPI and name of the physicians who certifies the patient’s eligibility for home health services; and
- Continue to report the NPI and name of the physician who signs the patient’s plan of care.
You will be able to add both physicians to the 485; either at time of adding a new 485 or from the Box 23 on the 485 Edit screen. Claims created on or after July 1, 2014 will pull appropriate doctors onto the claim for reporting purposes.
