I've corrected the spelling of this doctor's name, but occasionally it reappears with the incorrect name:
This can happen if you use the Update PECOS Y/N button, under Codes>Other Basic Codes>Doctor Codes. If the name is spelled incorrectly in the PECOS database, each time you use the Update PECOS Y/N button, the physicians name will update to whatever is listed in the PECOS database. If this is the case, you should contact the physician and inform him/her the spelling of name is incorrect in the PECOS database and ask him/her to correct it.

For claims sent to Medicare, the doctor's NPI is used to pull the name from PECOS and it must match for billing purposes - that's why the Update PECOS changes the name to match PECOS.
