This is another update on the recent CMS announcement that they will soon stop handling eligibility thru DDE.
To address this issue and ensure that our customers have continuous access to eligibility checking, Barnestorm has partnered with ZirMed to extend our offering not only for eligibility checking but also for claims scrubbing and other services. However, other claims transmission services, such e-Solutions, will also work.
The Barnestorm eligibility checking for individual patients is integrated into the Patient Referral screen, which means that you don't have to leave Barnestorm to send and receive eligibility, and that the results will be available in seconds.
NOTE: Zirmed service is optional, not required. However, this is the solution Barnestorm is providing for direct Medicare eligibility checking. The alternative for checking eligibility is Online Provider Services (OPS). Here is more information:
If you have Ability, please check with them for their Medicare eligibility checking capability.
For smaller customers, you can choose to use OPS or your existing provider.
