NC Medicaid - Type of Bill Update


This is an excerpt from DMA November Medicaid Bulletin (Page 21):

"Effective Nov. 1, 2015, providers should no longer submit original claims for home health services using Bill Type 33X. Providers should use Bill Type 32X or 34X instead. Bill Type 33X will be discontinued per the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the National Uniform Billing Committee.

No change is needed in your setup. As long as Payclass = C under your Medicaid payer(s), the correct TOB will appear on your claim(s).  You can verify this by pulling up your Medicaid payer(s) under Codes>Program Related Codes>Payer Codes.
