Options for syncing remotely:
1. VPN - involves extra software installed on each poc machine and/or a hardware device in front of the server. Barnestorm does not manage install, setup, or support for VPNs; your IT staff will need to set this up.
2. Direct access - involves allowing a port through the firewall to access the database. Barnestorm will assist in setting up and securing the database with a certificate, but, allowing the port through the firewall and making any needed changes to the POC laptops will be the responsibility of the agency.
Both of these options requires either acquiring a static IP or externally accessible domain name.
