Create a Medication Verbal Order

Using the "Med Changes Since" Feature in Barnestorm

The "Med Changes Since" feature is a tool designed to streamline workflows, reduce duplicate efforts, and minimize data entry errors. Follow these steps to create orders based on recent medication changes:

Step 1: Update Medication History

Ensure the patient's medication history has been updated.

Step 2: Navigate to the Add/Edit Order Screen

1. Open the Add/Edit Order screen.
2. Click the Customize Order Content button.

Step 3: Select the Date for "Med Changes Since"

1. In the Med Changes Since field, select the date from which you want to track medication updates.
• This will identify any medications that were added or edited after the chosen date.
• This does not pull based on the Effective date of the med.

Step 4: Generate the Medication Order

1. Select Med Changes from the options.
2. Click Create Order to generate the updated medication order.

Additional Information for Readmitted Patients

For readmitted patients, all medications copied forward will have the modified date updated.
