Microsoft Windows 10 Support ended on October 14, 2025.

This means that after this date, Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates, new features, or bug fixes.

Hardware and Software Requirements

All Client and Server operating systems need to be 64 bit.
Ink and Signatures can be input into the system using any mouse pen, wireless digital pen or standard mouse. Touchscreens are required for monitor signing.
The software can be configured to be accessible from outside the network if desired. Mapping and management of network drives is not the responsibility of Barnestorm. Click here for our support policies: individual links are located at the bottom of the screen.

Outgoing Ports

These outgoing ports need to be open for Barnestorm users:

80, 450, 443, 20, 22, 21, 2022, 2222, 8090

LogMeIn

Barnestorm uses LogMeIn to provide remote support for all users.

LogMeIn is compatible with all major security suites and broadband routers. To make LogMeIn work when the host is behind a firewall, you must ensure the following:

TCP port 443 traffic must be allowed.
LogMeIn components must not be blocked.
Add the following LogMeIn components to the allowed list in your firewall configuration:

LogMeIn.exe
LogMeInSystray.exe
LogMeInRC.exe
LMIGuardian.exe
raabout.exe
ramaint.exe

LogMeIn Requirements

2 Mbit/s
An Internet connection
For remote control, we require a 1.5 Mbit/s (192 Kbyte/s) or higher connection speed on each end, as per FCC guidelines for video streaming. For optimal experience in Full HD resolution, a 2 Mbit/s (256 Kbyte/s) connection is recommended.

We need all Barnestorm users to have full, unblocked access to:

For Point of Care (POC) Installs

All SQL versions require administrative rights on the computer during the install, meaning the logged in Windows user must have full admin rights.

ARM PROCESSOR (Currently NOT Supported with SQL for POC)

To check if your machine has an ARM-Processor

Open Settings: Press the Windows key and type "Settings". Click on Settings.
Navigate to System > About: Select "System" on the left, then "About" on the right.
Open Settings: Check System Type: Under "Device specifications", look for "System Type". It will say either "x64-based processor" or "ARM-based processor".

OASIS Locking Change for POC

OASIS Process Change: Validation and Locking

NOTE: This change only affects Medicare-certified customers who create OASIS documents for patients. If you do not use OASIS documents, you may disregard.

The process for locking OASIS in Barnestorm has changed to incorporate the Medicare CMS OASIS validation tool. OASIS can no longer be locked within the Edit screen or from the Build OASIS screen in the assessment. Instead, the OASIS must be Reviewed and Validated successfully before you can lock the record. And, because of the CMS validation tool, you must be connected to the internet in order to validate the OASIS.

If your agency does not require clinicians to lock their own OASIS, this process change will not affect your clinicians. If your clinical staff DO lock their own OASIS documents, then you will need to use the attached PDF document to educate clinicians regarding the change to the OASIS locking process:

OASIS reviewers and exporters should also read this document, as it will affect the OASIS review and export process. The most important step in the export process will be to use the OASIS Tracking Report, found at Reports > OASIS > 13.05, to determine which OASIS documents have not been locked. The OASIS audit process should include reviewing, validating, and locking each OASIS.
