For dates of service on or after January 1, 2016: Visits previously reported with G0154 are reported with one of the following codes: G0299 Direct skilled nursing services of a registered nurse (RN) in the home health or hospice setting G0300 Direct skilled nursing of a licensed practical nurse (LPN) in the home health or hospice setting.
Barnestorm has made revisions to the billing software to use the new G codes effective for dates of service on or after 1/1/2016 for Home Health episodes or Hospice charges. The change is to replace G0154 with either G0299 or G0300; depending on the employees skill. Barnestorm will know which G code to use based on the employees revenue code used in the Employees code.
The only setup you will need to do on your end is to make sure any LPN employee has the Revenue Code 0559 setup under their employee code from Barnestorm Office > Codes > Other Basic Codes > Employees.
SPECIAL NOTE: If this requirement is needed for a Non PPS payer, you will need to make a change to that payer's setup, using the following steps:
1. Go to Codes > Program Related Codes > Payer Codes
2. Select the option to " Translate G0154 to G0299 and G0300."
3. Click Save
* You will still need to make sure the correct code is entered for the employee based on skill (RN or LPN).
