Barnestorm has implemented the OASIS-C1 update in a way that is seamless for your clinicians: they will see the updated version when it applies, and the processes they're accustomed to using in Barnestorm will not change at all. Therefore, no re-training of clinical staff is required from a software perspective. Any questions you have about the OASIS itself should be directed to CMS, as Barnestorm simply provides the CMS-specified version and updates. CMS is providing online OASIS training:
Before an OASIS can be exported in 2015, it must be validated using the CMS OASIS Validation Tool. In Barnestorm, there is a new Validate button in the top right corner of the OASIS screen that will complete this validation. Validation takes 5-10 seconds, and it works only when there is an internet connection. You can use the Validate button for OASIS also.
Any OASIS started in 2014 that is continued in 2015, and has the M0090 date changed from 2014 to 2015, will cause the OASIS questions to change from OASIS-C to OASIS-C1.
Your office manager will get an email from Barnestorm this week about implementing the Barnestorm OASIS-C1 software update, which is scheduled for December 16.
