“Effective for home health episodes beginning on or after October 1, 2013, Original Medicare will no longer accept institutional claims submtted with Type of Bill 033X.”

As claims start to reject due to invalid type of bill 33X, you can update the payer in Barnestorm as needed. 

• Go to Barnestorm Office > Codes > Program Related Codes > Payer Codes
• Pull up the payer
• Change the Type of Bill Code from 33 to 32
• Click on Save
