A Medicare patient may be eligible to receive home health benefits for a condition not related to their terminal illness. The Patient would still need to meet the requirements to qualify for Home Health. To bill for Medicare services, the HHA would need to include condition code 07, treatment of non-terminal condition for hospice patient, on their claim.To put in the Condition code, go to:
a. Referral
b. Payers tab
c. Extra Billing Info tab
d. From Date and Thru Date: You can key in a date range (if specific), or you can leave blank and the condition code will pertain to your entire admission period.
e. Condition Codes field: Type in 07
