You can enter OASIS information on patients under the age 18, and it will not be transmitted.  In order to bill Medicare or a Medicare advantage plan, the patient needs a HIPPS code, so the OASIS would need to be completed.

The OASIS is a part of the comprehensive assessment for pediatric, which is required for all admissions for skilled care.  If the agency does NOT want the OASIS on the assessments, set up a new payer with Oasis Required = No. 

Note: Point of Care users will have the option to create the pediatric assessment when they start a new visit.
