Using Carolina Access Override

The Medicaid Carolina Access Override code is usually two letters + five numbers (ex. CC12345).   The CA override is typically used when an agency is seeing a patient, and the current Carolina Access Physician refuses to let them have their Carolina Access number.  This code must be obtained from provider services, not Barnestorm.

Place the override code in Referrals > Payers > Extra Billing Info > Carolina Access.

Next, go to Billing > Other > Carolina Access to NPI CrossReference.  Select the override CA# from the left column.  Enter the same CA# in the NPI Number field and type OVERRIDE in the Description.  Click on Save.

When you create the claim, value G2 and the override code will appear in locator 78 of the UB04.
