Orders entered as wound orders will appear automatically in POC on the wound selected under the wound comments. This provides an automated way of ensuring the exact wound care instructions are noted on each wound.

If the order instructions that are appearing in POC are NOT correct, then a new order should be added with the correct instructions. This does not have to be an order that is sent to the doctor; instead of clicking Create VO, you can click No VO Needed and the order will be internal only. This allows you to document and track wound care instructions as they change for each wound.

If you do not want the order to appear in the comments,  you MUST enter some other text in the wound comments section. If the comments are blank, the order text will automatically appear.   You can click on the SX infection checkbox and it will fill in that text automatically, ensuring that no other text will appear in the comments. Or, you can type "no comments" or type in your own wound care process.
